Everyone thought Vietnam would be a cakewalk too. Same with Iraq. Same with Afghanistan. Didn’t matter how many drones they had or how high their budget was, because wars don’t end just because one side wins a few battles.
Sometimes, it’s about making the cost of occupation so high, so drawn-out and miserable, that the superpower starts asking itself why it ever bothered. That’s how empires bleed out. Slowly, in places they thought would be easy.
And if we’re going down, we’ll go down in CADPAT. It’d be long, ugly, and probably hopeless. But it wouldn’t be clean for them either. No invader walks through a country untouched when the people decide they have nothing left to lose.
