It definitely made me appreciate the work some people are forced / willing to do. It's like being stuck in the shittiest zone of the beginning of an MMO and you farm / provide items for players 10+ levels higher than you until you pop out either through a combo of skill, luck, patience, incompetence, or suicide.

DBZ doesn't need an open world, its not a series about characters exploring the world
exploring the world isn't really part of the power fantasy of being a DBZ character since they fly and literally teleport

even in DB it is more of an adventure but locations are more checkpoints for characters to fight a succession of enemies like the tournament venues and even muscle tower

what i'm saying is its not like Goku has his own leaf village where the location itself is a character in its own and there are long histories of peoples and cultures to explore
