I've said it in another thread, but /co/ gives me this distinct vibe that a lot of people are only here because they just simply can't interface with other media: they don't like /a/ stuff because it's icky and foreign and weird weebshit etc., they don't like /v/ stuff because it's too interactive and mentally engaging, they don't like /tv/ stuff because it involves looking at actual real-world people and faces and not abstract cartoon characters, rinse and repeat for basically every other medium. They just want to shut their brains off and stare at random colorful moving images, but it also has to fall under such a bizarrely narrow and hyperspecific - yet paradoxically vague - idea of what they think a "cartooon" SHOULD be that if they see something that gets popular that also doesn't fall into these arbitrary parameters, they go positively apeshit and have to make it everyone else's problem. And to top it off, this board really seems to be the most uniquely ignorant as to how it's medium is actually MADE, despite the fact that there's basically a detailed list of credits in functionally every single piece of official animation in existence.
