A plan that probably sounded good on paper till Russia realized everything West of the Dnieper and them some was actually willing to fight back and not just lay down and allow themselves to be annexed hence why they've been locked in a snails crawl for the past couple of years.

You'd think they'd just come to the negotiating table at that point and settle for good enough but if their plan is to try and push further all because of 'muh Transnistria' they might end up biting more than they can chew and out stretch their forces and at that point no amount of Best Korean cannon fodder can protect you from stirring up that many hornets nests.
