they have realized from their older designs that some kits cannot have the capability to be so versatile(usually gun is the culprit), stuff like yamato and kelvin taught them that specific playstyles are necessary for certain characters to exist

now the real question is if you believe that this is a bad thing for the game, Id argue its good because certain designs(like doorman now for example) cant exist if you want the ability for characters to do literally anything, then think about how this will be constricted anyway due to items being the determining factor for those characters builds and viability, its short sighted imo to take the approach that anyone should be able to do anything
