I just tend to go where the mood takes me. Don't really restart characters rather than play another for a while and come back to it later. Think it's usually about 40 ~ 80hrs, but I do waffle a lot. And walk in circles.

Complete baloney. Most mods are easily added and even removed, though you're better off not if you're not sure. Generally problematic additions tend to give you a warning on the page and have to do with changing persistent references, ongoing quests and stuff like that. Weapons/armours/companions aren't gonna do diddly squat.
