Nobody said it was impossible, we just say they won't do it. The RE Engine is 10 years old and the only games they've made for it that don't look like Resident Evil 7 are some fucking Ghost & Goblins sidescroller and a fucking Game Jam character action game that looks like it was just a training project for the next generation of DMC devs. The onus is on Capcom to prove us wrong and make a Triple A game that doesn't look like Resident Evil 7 for the first time in 10 years.
