His mom being le big bad is meaningless when it isn't even central for the character, he's not shown to be bothered by it.

What's really tragic about it is seeing the few Gregfags out there make up all kinds of scenarios and art about it as they're so desperate for it to have just some - ANY - meaning to the character. But it just doesn't.
