Hello anons, new player here. Just finished Canto 2 and was wondering if it is normal to miss on Rodion wanting to be "special", or feel like she's not like the other poor people?
I feel like if you don't put your trust in Sonya's words during her flashbacks and at the end, it's really hard to come to that conclusion with certainty. I remember some moments from Canto 1 when she tried to hide the fact that she was poor once, but I simply dismissed it as having no money. It could be simply the case of me being dumb. (checking out the Crime and Punishment and Raskolnikov summary helped me grasp the complete meaning.)

Yeah one of my biggest gripes with her Canto is that it really didn't do a good job of setting up the idea that Rodion wanted to be special
All you have to go on it in that Canto are the words of the tax collector who is actively antagonistic to Rodion and looks down on her, so she could just be saying things to hurt her
And then you also have the word of Sonya who has actively manipulated Rodion in the past, tried to manipulate her again to join his side in the present, and will honestly probably try and manipulate her again in the future, while also using Rodya's alleged want of being special as a way to deflect her question about how he knew Rodion was going to lose her temper upon confronting the tax collector and end up acting rashly

To me, it's all painting a picture of Rodion only half-heartedly believes that she wants to be special as that's what people kept saying that's what she wanted, especially because she struggles to admit as much herself
As to why this is being done I couldn't say, but Sonya is clearly planning something involving Rodya

The faster you accumulate energy, the quicker the day is done.

No reason to use low tier stuff ever, you're taking (if i remember correctly) 20% extra damage for each difference in tier- so if a nugget with a TETH armor gets hit by a WAW abno thats an extra 40% damage.
The same goes for weapons and the damage you deal, and yes you do extra damage against lower level abnos.
Also range weapons are vastly superior to melee weapons. theres only like 5 actually good melee weapons and they're all ALEPH (and one WAW)
