hydraulic brakes arent for the stopping power
combined with thru axles, hydraulic brakes are pretty much self adjusting, you never have to worry about messing with them, unlike mechanical brakes with quick release, where you have only one brake pad pushing againts the other, and quick release allowing you to sometimes overtighten and push the fork more to one side, leading to you constantly messing with the brakes

trust me get hydro brakes, even with quick release they are a whole class above mechanical brakes and will make you trust your brakes
