I don't play online PVP games like this anymore, because it has essentially been proven cheaters populate these games way more than online shills will have you believe.
However, anti-movement fags just want everything to stay the same as it was when they were a teen. Their old FPS classics did not prioritize movement like Classic Quake did, so they get filtered. The same way the largely same group of people were filtered by platforming in Doom Eternal. It is like trying to teach a 90 year old how to use the computer. They cannot do it. They will couch it in terms of skill, because online gamers are try hards at the end of the day, so don't let that fool you. They just can't do it.
Eventually, Zoomers and Gen A will find out what it feels like to be left behind though. They trash all my favorite retro games that crush their shit, insist modern demakes are fantastic replacements, and generally have low IQ takes. When the next generation treat their golden cows the same way, they will react negatively.
It is all an endless cycle.
