Their ideal consumer is someone who pre-ordered/bought at launch and only plays when there's a major event or release to drive up player metrics and social media hype. someone who buys every dlc to see the new stuff, convinces their friends it's worth getting, and then drops the game again until the next update. They don't cater to the players that play 20hrs/week and grind virtual currency drops, because they lose money when you consider all the post-launch support and maintenance costs that aren't being recouped with dlc purchases.
