Oberon only did it because he wanted to maximize the TOTAL FAE DEATH DAY. He wanted to stack as many calamities as possible on the worst possible day, he even said it not my headcanon. Everything he was doing in LB6 was speed chest. Brotherpillars getting slaughtered was left ambiguous but he probably wasn't gonna kill them personally. He avenged their death anyway after the slaughter he killed one of Morgan's henchmen while you were in the camp with Artoria Avalon.
