You have to understand that the Israeli's genocide of the Palestinians have been a slow and steady success story for the last century.
The Zionist colonization efforts of the region was happening as early as the 1920s, and was mostly left under the radar despite the atrocities already being committed against the locals, and that was only boosted further during the 30s/40s because the Holocaust basically gave the Zionists a a major PR boost. After all, the poor Jews were nearly genocided, nobody in the West wanted to give them shit. Ignore the fact the Israeli already in the region weren't really effected by that, it gave them the leeway and a population boost needed to ramp things up.
It's only relatively recently, with the advent of internet, and the rise of younger generations in the West who feel far less "guilty" of WW2 and apathetic to Israel at best, that have forced Israel to drop the innocent act and just go off the deep end.
Like other anons have said, Netanyahu is on borrowed time now, the moment the Boomers and Gen X are gone any and all support they had in the West is gone, they want to wipe out the Palestinians and secure the Middle East as their region of influence before then.
