Borrowing this thread for a bit.
I need your advice, /k/. I'm working on a small unit tactics game (think xcom), except it's against cryptids and mythical creatures, among others.
But I'm struggling with how to design the enemies. It's boring if everything just dies to a burst of 7.62, so i want to implement mythological methods of dispatching them.
Like vampires requiring stakes, mortal weakness to sunlight, or using holy symbolism (and garlic) for defense, or wendigos needing to be set on fire and having their hearts destroyed.
Bigfoot being one of the ones that are perfectly killable with guns (alongside giants), offset by just being plain tanky and being able to hurl rocks like a man shaped catapult instead.
So give me ideas, /k/. What strange, mythological creatures do you want to hunt and what methods should they need?
