the rule of thumb with speedshots:
you land and nothing happens: you fired too soon
you land and you do a little hop: you fired too late
speed/fast pogo is slightly harder to give rule of thumbs thoughever. There is a limit to how fast you can fast pogo which is somewhere before 1100 hammer units/second. Before then it's just a matter of angling your rockets correctly. you have to slowly start aiming your rockets higher and higher as you get faster and faster

the other guy is right though boot up jump_academy and you just gotta build up the muscle memory from there. Never stop practicing. I can tell you learning how to jump is super rewarding. It feels incredible to pull off cool jumps in an actual game. """freestyling""" in an actual game to pull off some crazy escape or frag is so fun. I can't tell you the amount of times a random speedshot saved my life
