LASIK will only bump you yo +-0,125. If you still have refraction errors with contact lenses, such as incorrect side vision sharpness, then that will remain at a less severe version.
You could still do the skill issue and do enough nearsighted work to get nearsighted, or get the opposite from the cornea stiffening with age(45+).
If you are in the -1 or -2 range, you could fix yourself in a year with the Bates/Endmyopia method, even if those loons are cultists who struggle with the idea of putting together a coherent vision improvement regiment over spouting "axial length" as if its some magic word...
