2035 felt too much like Glukhovsky seething at Putin to be good, even though it had a few cool moments. I don't know why people have a problem with 2034 though. The nihilistic story about Homer and Sasha trying to see love and beauty where there is none and getting burned for it is right in line with the plot of the first book, even though it's different in many other ways from 2033.
