Act 3 is bad for the same reason CRPGs in general have underwhelming late acts, devs are massive pussies and don't wanna balance the game around the player being max level with decent build and OP spells out of fear that players hasn't optimized their party, so every fights ends in 1-2 turns if you are lucky and don't nuke everyone on your first turn because you have high too high initiative, all so they can avoid dad gamers rage quitting
there are several posts on BG3 reddit users complaining that Myrkul was "too hard" because they basically rushed everything in act 1 so they are not only under leveled but also badly geared and have no gold.
