And because he's a narcissistic twat that always starts from the position of I AM ALWAYS RIGHT he leapfrogs over himself making constant excuses as to why he's orbiting a game that he just doesn't fucking like. Genuinely, if Toby just announced there would be a 10-year hiatus, what would he do? If he were to leave in that hypothetical scenario then he's FORCING himself to be here, but if he wouldn't leave then he's quite frankly an extremely disabled sped with zero agency that needs other people to take care of him so he doesn't fucking kill himself out of his own stupidity.
He's simply antithetical to his own complains - why appeal to a guy whose likes are just consumable product to be tossed aside, and his dislikes are functionally the actual framework he perceives the world with to the point of constant obsession?
