>That's not Adventure specific, we've had that since S3nK.
06 took the SA1 approach and had characters progress through the same stages in a different order while also adjusting things so said characters would traverse the same stages in different ways.
>Aren't the upgrades in 06 bought rather than being found?
Finding them isn't the important part, it's that the mechanic was brought back after not being in Heroes and Shadow. Also not every upgrade in SA1/2 is required.
>But it isn't.
It is. The spindash and bounce are both back, and the spinkick takes the place of SA2's somersault, although it's functionally the same. And you could never spamdash in SA2 anyway (hence the somersault). Also I already specified that it was a Sonic-only thing.
>They don't though.
They're not implemented verbatim, but they each have segments where they have to search around a wide area for a certain number of items. It's a clear allusion on the devs' part. Same goes for bothering to give Shadow and Omega shooting elements. Omega even has the same hovering ability like Gamma and SA2's mechs.
>If you're really going to use the orca as an argument...
The point is that it's included in a blatant Emerald Coast throwback, whale chase and all. The point about 06's Egg Carrier is that it's LITERALLY called the Egg Carrier once again. Again, these returning/throwback elements (alongside others like the Chao poster and GUN mech references) make it obvious the devs were intending 06 to be seen as a follow up to SA1 and 2.

And yeah, I already acknowledged that 06 overall is structurally closer to SA1 than SA2, but was also likely intentional on the devs' part, since SA1 was more popular in Japan compared to SA2.

>Do they also think video games caused violence this whole time?
No, but video games are subsidized but the US military because they know it's a powerfull tool influence recruitment rates. Much like if you expose a minor to overtly queer influences they are more likely to become queer as they get older.
