Thinking about my dad today, he passed 2 years ago from what was probably emphysema/covid complications.

He was a drug addict and mildly abusive when I grew up with him, but I understand he probably had his own trauma and was abused as well so he struggled to break the cycle.

We were mostly estranged for my teenage and adult life(I am 35) and during his last 6 months or so we started talking a little, maybe twice a month on average and he seemed to want to try and mend things.

I last talked to him briefly on Christmas, he was a bit busy but we exchanged Merry Christmas's and he passed 2 weeks later.

Thinking about him a lot today, he was mostly estranged from the rest of his family bar his sister. Thinking of calling my aunt to talk about him, but we hardly know each other. I last talked to her when my dad passes.

She's getting up there in age too, I dunno if she'll be happy to hear from me but should I talk to my aunt about my dad?
