I thought I was doing okay with my life but my long, only relationship ended, the one I hoped would be the only one I would ever have, and I've been essentially at a total loss for two years. I feel too tired and old to do this all over again at an age when I thought I would finally be allowed to be happy and safe and content for maybe the first time in my life. Oh, and of course it's impossible to have friends in your 30s because everyone you know is too tired to ever do anything other than hang out with their SO after work. I'm trying to come to terms with the fact that I might just be completely alone, loveless, and friendless for the rest of my life. Like I was for the first half of my life, but being back here at square one, but now with the added debuffs of age, feels horrible. Right now my main thought every day is "I wish I killed myself years ago because every day I put it off is more sunk cost of a miserable life"

But, you know, it really could be so much worse, as you see from people in these threads all the time, which is a real insane testament to the human capacity for suffering!
