Nobody told me growing up that I was supposed to be developing marketable skills as a teenager. I had no idea what I wanted to do.
I guess I expected that I would've killed myself before I graduated High School.
The only marketable skill I have is programming and computer maintenance but those are super over-saturated and I'm not good enough to stand out.

The border agent is trying to sus out whether or not you're just a canadian or a "canadian" smuggling chinese fentanyl across the border. While doing it quickly because Canadian and Mexican land crossings are some of the busiest in the world. Have your passport, info about where you're staying, and expect at least a quick car/bag search. No real canadian tourists are getting "detained," if they are I bet it's only temporary if they're missing documents. The US will literally do the same thing to US citizens if they don't have a passport or customs forms ready to present.
