It's about intent more than challenge. If the BT's drag me out of my car it means the game is forcing me to take it seriously, to think every order through without trying to optimize everything like an autist. They're not really tense combat scenarios but more like another logistical issue you had to deal with. You no longer need to "deal" with anything in 2. It's just more generic sandbox bullshit where you have 500 tools and need to create your own challenge, which more often than not ends up being retarded Youtube video bait. Everything works so nothing matters. I want to play a game that feels designed, not one that just waits for my big player cock to do whatever it wants. That's what made DS1 special and what DS2 absolutely butchers.

Kojima's idea of "good and fun" with DS2 appears to be a mission where you walk into a factory and shut off the 3 terminals while shooting robots like we're in fucking 2012 again. In fact, DS2 plays almost exactly some old jokey 4chan greentext describing casualized game sequels, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised people are defending it now.
