>engage was supposedly sitting on a shelf, waiting to come out for a year or so.
And during that time they still considered Engage was gonna be a bigger hit.
>game companies frequently work on multiple titles at once, especially if they have big names. CoD and WoW are examples. Years ago blizzard stated they worked on several expansions at once.
But IS barely has 200 people compared to those companies overbloated staff.
>Why not? It was the best selling mainline title, people wanted more, and it's not like IS never revisited a continent. Why wouldnt they want to milk that cow, especially as a backup if something goes wrong with the next title?
They already did Hopes. This time IS was relatively more involved and that game was rushed and left to die almost immediately with no DLC. Thats not the treatment Houses would get if they have really planned all along to keep pushing Fodland.
> They really wouldnt have learned avout engages reception and sales until after it came out. To say they went back to fodlan because of it would mean that after a few months they panicked and started working on this new game. That leaves about a 2-2.5 year dev cycle, which is really fast for more modern FE games.
But people were saying this was the longest time we have been without an FE so this one has been worked for a while.
Lets say all the info on Engage sales was true, after about 2-3 months they would have realized the disparity in reception. Seems likely reusing content. There is a Houses/Hopes demonic beast in the trailer.
>Maybe your right and they came crawling back to fodlan after engage, but I think theres reasonable doubt they might have been working on this along side it, especially as we have a missing FE game.
Regarless of the reason the fact for me is that instead of discussing the game plot and setting all discussion from now on will be "What are the implications for 3H/Fodland?". So we are still discussing an old game setting instead of a new one.
