The issue is that the average Fire Emblem RETARD doesn't understand how art is made for these games. Each game has a portrait artist and a character/concept artist. Sometimes, like in Fateswakening and Radiant Dawn, the same artist does both jobs. Other times, like in Path of Radiance and 3H, you have different artists doing the jobs.
No one is saying Kusakihara hasn't been retained for portraits; we're saying Chinatsu may not be back for concepting, because none of the designs look like her painfully generic otomeshit work.

She did not. This is a frequent point of confusion for many to this day. It's well established that Kusakihara translated her concept art into the actual portraits seen in game. People just assume she did everything, but you can see she doesn't draw faces that way, Kusakihara does.

I think this is actually the biggest piece of evidence that the game is a sequel and it's wild how no one is talking about it. The only reasons a Relic of Noa would be outside of the Nuvelle territory is if it got looted during the Dagda/Brigid war, or if Constance didn't hide her bloodline post-Three Houses.
