No idea, but I still wish it had come out, I love 90's 3D platformers and I love Sonic, not having a proper 3D Sonic on Saturn has always bummed me out, even if Sonic X-Treme had been mediocre, I feel like it would've been that mediocre title I can find a lot of fun in, instead of those that are just dull and forgettable.

This Sonic design is interesting because it's like the missing link between classic Sonic and modern Sonic. IIRC it was by the same dude who designed him on Adventure?
