I used to know a guy that worked at one of these places. They would get mattresses with massive shit/piss/blood stains sometimes even that people died on.
They were basically worthless and he could just take them and be doing them a favor since nobody else even wanted to touch them.
He had some special super cleaner he bragged about that he could just spray on and wipe down and would make it look like new. Then he'd resell them and brag about making hundreds of dollars off of shit that nobody normally would've even touched if it was on the side of the road.
