I know you’re just inciting anti-medical sentiment but I’ll bite.
Asthma, similar to COPD, involves spasms of the bronchioles (called bronchospasms) which are small airways in each lung.
You’re asking if strengthening diaphragm muscles, a completely separate anatomical structure, will help prevent spasms of your bronchioles.
It won’t. Want to know what will? Avoiding triggers of said spasms. When you have spasms, taking a medication like Albuterol helps relax the smooth muscle that lines your bronchioles, in effect stopping the spasms.
The reason most people don’t trust doctors is because they don’t actually understand why we say what we say. The reality is we don’t have time to teach every patient human physiology/modern medicine in a 20 minute office visit.
