I like the idea of this thread, anon.
I'm 36 years old, I got a SNES, a N64, a PS1, a PS2, a Wii and a PS3 when I was younger. I also played a shitload of emulated games from other consoles and portables when I was a kid. Eventually I moved on exclusively to PC gaming so I never got a PS4.
AAA gaming has been mostly a complete hellhole lately. Too much live service slop. Too much open world slop (The bane of my existence even two decades ago), but indie gaming is thriving.
Games I really liked from the past 6 years:
>Armored Core VI
Fromsoftware at its best
>Blue Prince
Satisfying puzzling.
>Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
A very soulful modern JRPG with its own unique twist. Act 3 drops the ball a bit but still a game that's gonna stay with me.
>Darkest Dungeon 2
Extremely underrated game on /v/. Miles above the first one.
>Hades
One of the best roguelites I ever played. Not interested in the sequel, though.
>Inscryption
The ARG shit is gay, but the game is so good that it's worth ignoring it
>Lorelei and the Laser Eyes
A modern classic for puzzle fans
>Roadwarden
When it comes to CYOA games, you don't get any better than this. The soul is off the charts.
>Sekiro
Not as satisfying an RPG as Dark Souls and Bloodborne, but the action is top notch
>SIFU
The best singleplayer martial arts game ever made

>Triangle Strategy
Tactical RPGs are really rare to find nowadays but this one scratched the itch and is in my top 10 of the genre
>UFO 50
Pure SOVL
