They been surpassed A team almost 20 years ago! Who do you think was responsible for the Freedom series and /v/ lauding Unite for having 'so much content'? Sure as shit wasn't A team who pretty much piggybacked off B team's success by the time of MH4.

MH1 made me realize how much I took farms for granted. Gathering resources is hell, especially when you don't have access to online. Hope you like doing the same gathering and killing small mobs quests many times over to get even a smidgen of what you need for making gear. Also the quest payouts make me want to vomit because as you said, this is shit to be done online.

The Portable quadrilogy (Freedom, 2, Unite, P3rd) are built around being able to play alone with the 'multiplayer' being a bonus. You can very well go to the gathering hall and take on those quests alone but bear in mind that the monsters are slightly tougher than 'offline' counterparts, even at low rank. Same rule applies 4, Generations, and even Rise.
