Players have been harshly critical of britian's famously grindy MMO since it's released, but is the harsh criticism really warranted? Popular news sites like reddit has over 22,000 comments in r/07scape containing the words "sailing" and "slop" just this past month. Some fans remain optimistic and seem to genuinely enjoy the new experience, stating that, "Jagex needs time to hammer out the lag and XP exploit bugs. Currently, there are over 40,000 accounts with the maxed sailing XP and Jagex has stated they are, "looking into this".

With all the controversy, it's no surprise that osrs player count has fallen below 60k concurrent users for over 2 months straight. With the newly announced PSS (Pre-sailing servers), perhaps osrs can recapture the magic it seems to have lost.
