Along with the war against "good and evil", both sides are controlled by forces that exist outside of this soul matrix - and the binary of "good" and "evil" entirely. They exist in a realm where there are no consequences for any actions so they created this world as a "game" with hard-coded "rules" and cause and effect.
To them they are doing no right or wrong because anything and everything possible and impossible already exists simultaneously for them.
You are falling for yet another distraction - the war is a lie. "God" and the "Devil" are actors in a play, and we are both the audience and the stars of the show, so to speak.
