AoS tourist here, some guy in /aosg/ told me that the empire is and has always been the least popular army in WHFB and now TOW (or among the least popular) for some reason. they didn't really say why, but they said that other factions just outsell and overshadow the Empire.


I went to my LGS on Saturday, and while they don't stock as much TOW as they do 40k and AoS, I noticed that about 40-50% of the shelves were Empire of man.

Was that anon talking out of his ass and my experience was just coincidence, or is the empire really a niche faction?

I had my issues with the old codex artist they had in the previous editions but all the new covers are just so boring. Washed out, and full of a bunch of empty space that doesn't add to or emphasize the focal point of the piece.
It's just a weird solid color tertiery color. It's like WTF were they thinking?? they saw those pieces of shit and decided they were acceptable.

Whoever did the art for Darktide's talent tree should be given a shot at the codexes. It's weird they even use the same artist for multipe books. they should delegate each codex cover to an artist whose skills compliment the faction aesthetic. It's like >>95889984
and >>95889971 were batch painted in a week and the artist cut corners so he could attend the local protest with his wife's autistic son Tyron Jr. Didn't Kopinski beat cancer? Get his ass back in the studio making artwork before it comes back, God forbid.
