>>Previous thread:>>95883793>Thread QuestionHow many banners are there in your army?
>>95887664 (OP)That helmet reeks of furry shit. The lenses need to be redone entirely.
Black Templars have access to three different Ancients, meaning you can run a total of 9 Ancients in your BT army
>>95887679>marine color guard
>Get a new idea for how I want to base my army
>Need to get every single model off of their bases to do it
How do you do this without damaging the models?
>>95887664 (OP)Is that supposed to be cloth covering the chest? Both the model and the codex cover look like shit
>>95887679Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
>>95887689Depends on how your models are attached to their bases
>>95887697Pretty sure most of them are just super glued on.
One or two might have been plastic glue before I realized that might not be a good idea.
>>95887692>Is that supposed to be cloth covering the chest?obviously yes, tabards are part of the Black Templar design
>>95887679>you can run a total of 9 Ancients in your BT armyYou won't do it, because you let fear control you.
>>95887679Not giving the bladeguard ancient a fucking sword was such a mistake
>>95887679Do they not also have access to terminator ancients?
>>95887701I don't have a BT army yet. But If I ever actually see that Dawn of War board game in stores I'll buy it, and the unit selection is perfect for BTs...
>>95887700Well it doesn't look like cloth does it? Its way too thick and hangs weird
>>95887705Are those still a thing?
>>95887713>too thickgee I wonder why a tiny model would need disproportionately thick cloth
>>95887713I think it looks fine, but "way too thick and hangs weird" is normal for me.
>>95887716yes, but you have to kitbash or buy the space marine heroes one
>>95887718Because in this case the sculptor did a shit job
Compare the cloth to what you see on other models. It doesn't read as cloth
>>95887727I easily read it as cloth.
>>95887689Clip around the feet and then use a sanding stick the sand the feet contact point
>>95887731Oh, like clip them out of the bases entirely?
>>95887727Nta but looks like cloth to me imo
>>95887713It's the paint job

Havent painted in a bit, feels good to get back into things. Like how this guy's turning out. I kinda like keeping the hands off it makes the model more approachable with the brush.
What have you guys been working on?
>>95887757cross faction flame motif? ;)
What are some impressive feats <your-doods> have done?
>Well in their lore they-
Shut up, I want to hear their impressive feats in game.
>>95887776Wait, is it as simple as sticking your subs on putty to do sub assemblies?
>>95887789My aforementioned thunder hammer ancient brained Trajan in like my third game of Warhammer
>>95887782Never. My T’au just know that they can ease the local imperial populace’s concerns by adding fire and machinery imagery as well as scripture passages due to the peculiarities of the local branch of Imperial Creed. After all, they don’t want you to stop worshipping the emperor, they just don’t want you to pay taxes to the old boss. Don’t worry about when their follow on reconstruction and colonization forces arrive and begin re-educating.
Though sometimes, like the reliquary my Stormsurge has on a stick, are to taunt particularly zealous enemies instead.
>>95887789I once had a crisis suit kill a Vindicator in melee.
>>95887789My souped up Shokka killed a Russ tank commander with mortal wounds in a crusade game.
How do the World Eaters possibly function as a chapter? They don’t need to do maintenance, induct recruits, operate void ships, deal with logistics, handle gene seed and other technical functions all Astartes have to deal with, etc? Is it like a Chaos version of the Ork thing where Khorne daemons make sure they get to where they need to go, make sure everything needed to fight is functional, etc, and everything else just sort of happens without any WE needing to do anything?
I have awoken and I reposten:
>>95883764did he ever make an official comment in regards to spectres? because I think that he's behind 3rd ed squidshees and dragons (by diaz?) reverting to his designs from 1st/2nd ed. furthermore while they were still inthe store there was always a name of the guy who sculpted them, but never who designed them which is how I assumed that jes never had anything to do with them. also zero sketches in his book(s).
>max image limit reachedimagine spectre.jpg
Why dont orks have the ability to get allies? they shouldnt be so isolated. let them ally in a leman russ, Im sure the imperium wouldnt mind lending them one.
>>95887789My warboss tanked a space marine captain dumping every single master crafted power sword attack into his face before promptly surviving and responding in kind with a flurry of power klaw strikes that crushed the poor captain to paste and his entourage of intercessors soon followed being swiftly cut down beneath a tide of axe swings from my warbosses mob of boyz.
>>95887824Slaves, warp shenanigans, and a core of dedicated apothecaries.
>>95887824>Maintenance>Operate void shipsThey have slaves/cultists for that, or just steal shit from others.
>induct recruits>geneseedThe same way every other chaos legion does it.
>logisticsIt's for nerds.
>>95887836>>95887839The slave argument means they need the discipline to not kill the slaves. Do WE really have that level of discipline? Are there WE whose job it is to protect their ship’s navigator? Is that something WEs can actually do?
>>95887854Yes, because they require at least some of them to be Butcher Surgeons, the ones to actually tend to the nails.
>>95887854A ship is capable of housing an entire continent, I dont think losing slaves is an issue.
>>95887664 (OP)>TQSoB
Counting the relic barers as Banners, every squad.
IG
Six in total, but I'll only ever have at most three in a game
Tau
I have a half-finished one I intended to use as an objective marker. It's staring at me from my projects shelf where it has sat in limbo since before covid.
I need to finish it.
Squats
None. My little space hulk prospectors don't use any, they would only get stuck in the cramped, narrow corridors.
>>95887854Generally the most sane and capable leader in the warband keeps things under control, but the turnover on servants is VERY high. WE warbands basically have to win every fight because if the lose once they won’t be able to rebuild. Thankfully Khorne gives them bullshit buffs randomly and a surprising number of WE are quite lucid after they get a good slaughter in.
>>95887789back in 3rd edition I made a hell-gun(I forget the daemon weapons name) dude for chosen champion.
He was bionics upgraded for fluff, I used a necron body converted into a lord(Metal body one). I was shot down twice, got back up (6's rolled) and fled the battlefield. Back when they were taken off the battlefield immediately for being under half strength.
It was funny as hell because he fired something gnarly at him I forget what. I think he was my last model. Somehow that memory stuck with me. I imagine him cussing as he limped away.
Aside from that I had one bloodthirster solo a 1000pt guardman army back in 3.5. It just kept finishing his units on his turn and charging the next unit. He was completely unharmed until the end.
>>95887864So, if they get a good bloodbath in, they can assert Astartes disciplines over the Nails for a while? They turn into professionals long enough to get everything back in order for the next journey?
>>95887879Kinda. Varies from band to band. Some are more raggedy than others. It helps if they have another legion operating with them, they can handle the nerd shit and usually use the ‘Zerkers as expendable assault troops.
>>95887879You can think of it as Lords/MoE/whatever leadership unit has enough experience with the nails that they aren't affected 24/7 by the need to kill, while inititate zerkers have this new feeling poking their brains.
Kharn for example has shown he does have tactical knowledge... until there is no fighting whatsoever and goes full flamer on everyone.
>>95887708>Generic space marine units>No Gabriel Angelos or CyrusLike catching defeat from the jaws of victory
Are deathmarks basically useless against other necrons since their guns only destroy synaptic tissue, which necrons don’t have?
>>95887960Necrons have built in genitals so it still harms them.
>>95887789My Toyota Ridgerunner got shot by an Onager Neutron Laser, out of the 3 shots, two missed, one wounded because it's fucking 16 strength, but it must have hit a rearview mirror beause it fucking saved that AP-4 beast shit without cover. It proceeded to kill a couple kastellans and explode later, but holy shit it clutched things hard.
If there was some new medical tech which allowed entombed Dreadnaught pilots to be fully regenerated, would every Chapter automatically and without question restore their venerable battle brothers?
>>95887936Funny seeing Titus get a model, could easily get the same points if they made models for Cyrus, Tarkus, and Hairgel. Or gave Gabe a plastic kit.
>>95887975maybe but the writers would never allow something that retarded and undermining to the themes of 40k
>>95887960Speaking of Deathmarks, I hate their fluff is that they might as well be war crimes against Necrons if deployed but on the table top they are just a squad of snipers that aren't that great.
>>95887963>built in genitalsWha?
>>95887776Just started learning all this, these are the ones I finished today. Buying some thinner brushes tomorrow I underestimated how small these sisters are. But it’s still really cool to have even six kind of messy ones all together like this.
Painting them in seperate pieces like you would have been smart, shame I built the whole squad already.
I want to play the game but I dont want to paint
>>95887975Obviously? You're talking about regrowing limbs, reviving organs and reversing aging at that point, man. No shit they would use it on dreads and damn near everyone else.
>>95888023 im a sucker for gold too, pretty good for first models anon
>>95887975At that point they absolutely would. It's way better to up armor and up gun the invictor than to keep marines as half dead vegetables
>>95888023you've chosen a difficult army and scheme for your first models but they turned out pretty good. a lot of new painters struggle with white but your tabards look good from what i can tell, though i would suggest starting with a light grey so you can layer and highlight up to pure white
with sisters i would recommend doing the backpacks as subassemblies and the arms too, if they're holding a two handed weapon
>>95887796Its blutac (white tac i guess) but yeah
Sometimes if its an awkward piece like a backpack that has multiple holes, Ill superglue it to some toothpicks so I dont fiddle with it too much and its easier to hold.
>>95888039>>95888054Thanks guys, I'll keep the subassemblies in mind for the next squad, I did layer white on top of gray but I still need more practice with highlights I keep thinking "that shaded spot just looks like a mess" and push the white until its just another base coat and then it's also a little too thick. But i am happy with them overall. The gold looks really cool and I want my pile to be bigger.

Dunno what gw were thinking, that's very un-orky
>>95888079That's the sweat build isn't it?

>>95887664 (OP)They knocked it out of the park with that Ancient, he looks perfect for BT. 10/10 would crusade with. Glad I didn't go in on Space Furries.
>>95887698If it's super glue it should be fine. If its plastic it's a fucking pain
t. rebased over 120 orks + all of the second hand shit that originally came on 28 mm
>>95888089Haha no. I’m new and I’ve just bought and painted the units i thought looked the coolest.
And as for his necrons… im definitely trying to get him motivated to paint them.
>>95887776Got too many projects going at once atm, I'm a slow painter and the second I start painting multiple units I get painting paralysis, I'm just doing it as I'm in an escalation league atm and I like to see most if not all of my shit painted on the table, I'd feel sick if I was fielding a bunch if greytide
>>95888101Honestly he could've just primed them with leadbelcher or an equivalent metallic and it would've looked far better
What statline should the game be balanced around? The "jack of all trades", "net neutral" statline if you will? MEQ would be part of the answer but I don't think that is always positive for the game.
Can someone nerf the enlightened disc riders by 20 points so they can stop being scalped? They cost $80 on fucking eBay now.
>>95888089no the sweat build is gman + calg and a bunch of vehicles
Even though it's good now, I will never forgive GW for forgetting the Lokhust Destroyers with Annihilation legion.
>>95888121It was always supposed to be balanced around Guardsmen with Marines being elite. The designers stated this directly in 3rd edition interviews and white dwarf articles and so forth.
Just getting back into the game this edition.
+1A for two melee weapons, +1A charge, and Twin-linked for two of the same weapon, are all gone right?
>>95888173Fair enough, but it obviously isn't that right now, which sucks.
>>95888178Pretty much. Twin-linked is a weapon keyword that means you re-roll wound rolls.
Should I get the battleforce for world eaters? I already have the last Christmas box for them.
>>95888188do you want a ton of ugly eightbound?
>>95888192I do like painting muscles. They are also cooler than then the zerkers.
>>95888198>They are also cooler than then the zerkers.you're entitled to your wrong opinion
>>95888150I'm guessing 2 to 3 ballistus, a lancer and whatever else
>>95888198>They are also cooler than then the zerkersI think you are insane but if you genuinely believe that and aren't talking yourself into it to justify buying the set then yeah, buy the set it's made for the few people just like you.
>>95888210Juiced up marines will always be cooler than standard nobodies. I do wish they had more demonic features but I guess that’s an easy fix.
It’s the jackals that are fucking lame though, they should have been blood pact.
>>95888000Well anon Titus is the protagonist of 40k, meanwhile Dawn of War is an RTS and therefore has little appeal with the modern audiences.
>>95888223To each his own. I think they look retarded and not in a good way. Zerkers look great, eightbound were enough to turn me off getting into WE. I have this issue with armies something. I like the new Space Wolves but Thunderwolves and Wulfen turned me off getting into them too. Some models are goofy enough to turn me off factions. Eightbound are one of them.
>>95888223Their issue is them being monopose models and a larger number of them will look retarded

>My Dudes:
They are rebels against the Imperium that aren't corrupted by Chaos, GSC or Tau. They are just humans who are tired of the of the tyranny of the Imperium and want to be free to rule themselves. Before their world of Veliste was brought into the Imperium just a scant 200 years ago their world was a fertile paradise and their society was based on a semi-nomadic clan structure. When the Imperium brought the world into compliance, they began the work of breaking down the old clan structure and have ruined the ancestral lands of the clans with their ceaseless industry. This, couples with a strong if corrupt imperial planetary governors led to rebellion that started as rioting, but escalated into a full-scale civil war that saw the Velistian rebels victorious. Knowing the Imperium would eventually come to reclaim Veliste, the clans united and formed themselves into a highly disciplined and professional military force. They learned the art of asymmetric warfare and mastered it to such a degree that even The mighty Astartes that have been part of the reclamation forces have fallen prey to their ambushes. The Imperium has attempted to retake the world 17 times and has failed each time. Many Imperial soldiers, both Guardsmen and Space Marines alike have fallen hearing the battlecry of the Velistian rebels. That battlecry being just a single word: "Freedom!"
They are regular humans so I use Imperial Guard rules for them with some GSC rules mixed in to highlight that they are primarily an ambush army, but can still fight pitched battles when they have to. Aesthetically, they resemble a heavily stylized version of Scottish Highlanders. For models I use a combination of the Border World Rangers and Highland Guard bits, both from Victoria Miniatures.
>>95888299>aren't corrupted by Chaos, GSC or Tau.They just don't know it yet.
>>95888302Nope. Not the lore for my dudes. They are just humans fighting for their freedom...and winning.
>>95888299>The Imperium has attempted to retake the world 17 times and has failed each time. What is the reason they haven't destroyed the planet from orbit yet?
>>95887789My Kataphrons almost killed a Nightbringer with an overwatch T1 and then finished him off on my turn. Or my Rustalker Princeps surviving 3 rounds in a row of melee at 1 wound against a brick of necron warriors.
>>95888309Imperial Navy can't spare the assets for exterminatus. Despite popular belief, exterminatus isn't something the Imperium just throws around willy nilly. A single world in rebellion that isn't corrupted by any larger threat isn't going to warrant an exterminatus order.
Help me anons. I can't stop buying paint.
Almost done with my june vehicle
How does this make you feel?
>>95888332I feel your pain
my local shop kept having sales on bundles so I have like 400 paints and hardly any duplicates now
So which traitor legion treats their cultists the best?
>>95888344Word Bearers, maybe.
It sure as shit ain't Iron Warriors.
>>95888339Why even bother to include Tallarn regiments in this when you can't even play them on the tabletop? You can't even do a generic Guard army and say it's Tallarn since they got rid of all the generic units for Guard. GW sends some very mixed signals about what models and rules they want players to play with.
>>95888356Im hoping for more regiment styles to play with.
I am currently mulling over a 15 platoon squad 2000pt army. (5 of each type)
>>95888344Thousand Sons apparently treat their pretty well, or at least well enough the don't try to escape back to their packs.
>>958883441000 sons cause everyone is part of the family
>>95888356Let me guess, your the same type of person to cry foul when GW introduces a new tank and the lore just says that it has always existed and not that it is some extremely new thing fresh from the forgeworlds?
>>95887776I've finished the chassis of my Rhino. Only need to add a bit of weathering and paint the guns now.
>>95888379No, I'm just saying that GW doesn't seem to know exactly what they want to do with Guard. The codex would suggest they want to reduce it to just Cadian, Krieg and Catachan, but then stuff like what I replied to makes it seem like they still want to include other regiments.
>>95888201Trip vindi, couple of balistus, gman calgar, 5 jpi, scouts and 5 desolators. Lancers are fine but vindis do a lot of work
So do the TS get mad when they see rubrics being used by the black legion?
>>95888344Alpha Legion without any question. They see them as valuable assets. It's probably not beneath them to use a raving horde as distraction too, but those are treated bad by everyone and aren't "part" of any of the legions.
How is the new Cabal CSM detachment doing? Not seeing it on the meta from last thread
>>95888356Are you too autistic to just use existing rules for cadians or Krieg and use desert fighter miniatures with them?
>>95888444Where are you pulling the data from?
Warhammer+ whatever happened there?
>>95888448I don't know, ask anon.
>>95888455Is that still a thing? I never hear anything about it anymore.
>>95888455They're still releasing stuff I watch it with my mom lmao, kill lupercal is really high quality animation
>>95888322Retarded Mary sue solution, but whatever. You do you.
>>95888482It's not a Mary Sue solution. That is literally canon. The Imperium only uses exterminatus in the most dire circumstances. A single world in rebellion does not constitute dire circumstances.
>>958877895 fire dragons and an autarch popped out of a falcon and killed fulgrim in 1 round of shooting
>>95888481>high qualitylmao, no
>>9588848717 losses would have been the planet glassed 10x over. Look at Krieg. Exterminatus may not be in order but burning out rebellion will happen one way or another.
>>95888492Compared to angels of death it is at least, and I still liked that one
>>95888455man when that shit started it was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo worth it. I sold all the minis I got like twice the money back+ warhammer+ slop. Dunno about now but after year 2 I didn't like the mini that year and didn't want to take the risk though now I regret it a bit since I want to start worldeaters probably. I would have sold it back then anyway most likely so whatever
The thing I hate about Tyranids is that they use handheld gun-looking things instead of just fucking spitting acid or launching spines or some shit.
>>95888504It is pretty stupid isn't it
>>95888504> instead of just fucking spitting acid or launching spines or some shit.no they do that too
>>95888504I never liked this either, especially when their larger units have their cannons and junk fused to them
>>95888504same but it's muh symbiotic fusion cope. I honestly think it takes away a bit of the horror aspect. They should at least make it less gun looking or something but that would require people giving a fuck
Nids should look disgusting like BETA from muvluv
nids feel a bit too dinosaury right now instead of scary alien imo
Nids need to have gushing ovipositors
Btw, inquisitor, the very first 40k book? They were onto something. Genestealers can get it.
>>95888495>Look at KriegThat wasn't a decision made by the Imperium at large though. That was the remnants of the local loyalists that made the decision to turn the planet into a nuclear wasteland.
>>95888512It should be closer to picrel
>>95888536hahahahaha you read my fucking mind it was exactly the video I was thinking about
They should add more warp aliens instead of nidders
>>95888526All women need gushing ovipositors. Smooch your local girl peen today.
>>95887789>>Well in their lore they->Shut upI'll still tell you anyway.
In their lore around M40 they sent 2 squads from the chapter where sent to investigate a disappeared ordo xenos kill team and the inquisitor leading it.
The investigation lead to a fringe desert world within segmentum Tempestus. When on the orbit of the planet it wad noted that some ruins existed on the planet, and once the 2 squads touched down on the planet they confirmed the presence of ruins to mission command.
The ruins were ancient, crumbling from the centuries of exposure to the elements. However there were still legible carvings on the walls, the symbols intricate and holding a certain air of mystery around them.
When the marines picked up the trail of the kill team it lead to another ruin and then downwards into the crumbling temple. When the marines made contact and found the kill team it was a grizzly sight.
What awaited them was the killteam completely torn apart with blood all over the walls and even ceilings, bolter casings and las shots marks on the walls. They counted the bodies present and noted that the inquisitor and feww other members were not among the dead, meaning they could be alive. A worrying thought seeing the dead kill team members, was it a monster that got them? Traitors which sparked the gruesome conflict?
The marines continue further into the underground ruin to find the remaining members, and after hours of walking and killing few xenos fauna that came in their way and finding the occasional corpse of a dead kill team member, they finally find a giant room, the heart of the complex.
And within they see more bodies, the few members and inquisitor that had escaped the prior conflict.
The inquisitor himself was on top of the pyramid like structure, dead but still posed in a way like he was trying to reach for the artifact on the pedestal.
>>95888543This but unironically
>>95888085They've always done that, but they used to hit a lot harder as a tradeoff.
I'm so fucking sick of 2D Klaws.
>>95888540A non-Chaos warp faction would be pretty cool
>>95888566Yeah that's what I was thinking, it doesn't have to be a full faction though just some temporary influx of weird aliens, possibly like giants/leviathans. I got the inspiration from Rogue Trader when Cassia sees a big ass worm thing in the warp she has to dodge
>>95888504>>95888507>>95888508>>95888509>>95888512Actually it's extremely cool and probably the main thing that truly separates them from any other boring "it's a bug that vomits on you" faction.
It's like saying you wish marines were less religious and more tactical looking or that you like uncorrupted renegade factions. You want to trim off the best bits because you don't actually like warhammer, it's just that all the other scifi franchises are dead so you had to get into it. I'm sorry mass effect died because it was gay but you should look elsewhere.
>>95887664 (OP)Why do the Black Templars and specifically only them have medieval-style marine helmets?
>>95888445Nta but yes. I'd gladly trade the three named regiment rules for generic squads again.

>>95888579Because knight aesthetic.

BT were my first army, primaris ancient was the first character model I ever got, and one of the models that made me pick space marines at all. Just finished terminators this weekend, feels serendipitous, BT love.
>>95888579Cause they're literally templars
>>95888588>>95888597>>95888601But what do they do, man? Take a regular-ass space marine helmet and bash it into shape?
>>95888599Those aren't your models and you won't be able to prove otherwise, you will also attempt to deflect from this fact by lashing out at others
>>95888599Really interesting Captain model in the middle there, is that a special character?
>>95888455Really I think GW was constantly held back by doing things on their own. They didn't really have the budget to do more, so we were left with a lot of wasted potential on the show end. And it basically killed off the youtube community they actually worked on building(losing a lot of big community artists didn't help). Time will tell if the amazon deal will lead to greener pastures with 40k media.
>>95888535No I mean look at what Krieg does to worlds that rebel.
>>95888571>You want to trim off the best bits because you don't actually like warhammer, it's just that all the other scifi franchises are dead so you had to get into it. I'm sorry mass effect died because it was gay but you should look elsewhere.I mean, shit, it's hard to argue with that. We had a thread of Helldivers fags arguing exactly that, and for years before that it was Halofags.
>>95888582It's not gay if they're wearing a skirt and have cute moans, everyone knows that
>>95888609It's not his model, he downloaded it from facebook

At the end of the game I got flanked and pushed back, but the lord and one of the chosen survived, and I won on the account of a bigger kill count, which was one of the primary objectives of the game. But in general if you post a lot, it just attracts bad faith actors who only want to stir shit because to them creating chaos on a cambodian lego forum is the bee's knees.
But it is also true that if you let yourself get emotionally compromised by a shitposter, and especially show that to a shitposter, it just paints even bigger target on your back, because again lot of shitposters are asshole people who unironically think it is funny to make people mad and upset.
This is the reason why you should never reply to these sorts of cunts.
Also especially if you are in an autistic lore argument with a stranger online, don't post your models to try and "own" person and make yourself seemingly "right", only thing you've done there again is you have been compromised, but now you have also given the shitposter a target to follow and orbit around in attempts shit up the threads further.

I've build around 10 sets of blooded by now and know the kit inside out, so I might be biased, but it's not that difficult as it might seem as soon as you separate guns/heads and body parts on separate piles.
>>95889173Yeah the sculpts definitely aren't very inspired desu
>>95889161>Deathleaper Nasty unit which fights first, infiltrate, lone op and stealth means enemies need to get very close to do ranged damage. Will kill a bunch of marines in melee.
>Lictor Cheaper version of death leaper. Great screening units and good for slaughtering infantry and objective doers
>neurolictorSynapse aura for your infiltrators and buffs vs battleshocked units. The idea is they stack with deathleaper so start of the phase you force a battleshock with the NL and Deathleaper pushes it to -1 so usually (7+ or 8+). The battleshock fails and you get access to +1 to wound (great for hitting tougher units). Also gives a -1 to hit to that unit which can be nice in melee.
The problem is Nids we’re a start of edition release so are built around battleshock. The whole mechanic is just not as game changing as GW really wanted it to be.
>>95889142I have no idea what they were thinking when they introduced the charge bonus concept and then didn't make lance and similar stuff charge bonuses. It's such a simple idea, and works perfectly well.
>>95889161Lictors are much MUCH squishier than the other two, both because they lack an invuln and the difference between 6 and 7 wounds is gigantic, D2 and D3 are very common damage stats. Lictors have dual jobs of being missiles you launch at units to pick characters out of them (on average they kill most regular foot characters) and lone op action monkeys. Also free rapid ingress is great.
Neurolictors are almost pure action monkeys, their 4++ and extra wound makes them significantly harder to kill than regular lictors and there's no real point in putting them into combat, they won't threaten anything except the very squishiest of characters. The battleshock stuff is very nice if you dedicate more resources into battleshocking (neurotyrant, screamer-killers, strats in vanguard onslaught, and so on) and the +1 to wound is crucial in vanguard onslaught to boost the damage output.
Deathleaper is basically a regular lictor on gigasteroids. He is an actual combatant and can take on even fairly dangerous stuff in his weight class like chaos lords and sm captains, especially with synapse support, and his -1 leadership aura synergizes real well with the aforementioned battleshock stuff.
>>95887704I know, right? It's like SpongeBob but without the SquarePants.
I still think to this day every army should have their own "fail" effect with leadership tests that are unique to each army to better reflect what happens when they lose "leadership", like Orkz fighting among each other to see who is the boss.
Would this be balanced? Fuck no.
Could it be fun? Maybe, but not with GW writing.

EC still solid but you need to not be a total retard when playing then, same for Tsons.
DG is definitely a crutch faction for average players to get higher winrates. A few nerfs and the goobers will start tanking the WR.
>>95889198Those days are long gone.
40k isn't a wargame with fluffy rules anymore. It's just shrimplification and streamlining till the end of time.
11th edition is launching 1 year from now in 2026 summer, I expect it will be even worse than 10th.
>>95889214Tsons have a ton of leeway with their spells now.
>>95889198Why not just come up with our own and use it in games? Something like "Whenever a unit gets battleshocked, in addition to the normal effects, the following happens:"
And then something different for each faction. Like ork units take D3 mortals when they fail battleshocks because of infighting or mechanisms falling apart.
Tyranids go into instinctive behaviour and get -1 to hit if they aren't attacking the closest target, and if they declare charges, must always include the closest target in their charge targets.
The hardest part would be that so many armies in 40k are supposed to be immune to morale stuff. If you make Custodes have something negative happen when they fail battleshock Custodes players will throw a shitfit because "their powerlevel is too high or that and they'd just ignore anything bad happening to them because they're better than my dad!" or something.
>>95889224True but their units are still not as tough as DG. The main crutch for DG is they’re both very tough (T6 marines, lots of invuls or FnP) and very lethal. Essentially makes them a lot easier to make mistakes with and not get super punished for it.
>>95888504Their guns still follow the same rules of physics as everyone else, if they want a bio-projectile to go far it needs to have a longer barrel.

>>95889213>Something tells me the fun loving ork fanbase would lose their shit if you told them 'take d3 mws' because they failed a battleshock testTime for a history lesson. Let's go back to 7th edition. Orks haven't received a new codex since the end of 4th edition, but it was a good one that held up ok through the edition changes and was only just starting to show some rough edges after several USRs they relied on had received some significant nerfs in 6th and 7th. One of which was the Fearless special rule, which they only received the benefit of when above a certain number of models in a unit (10) thanks to the Mob Rule army rule. A change in combat resolution made it so that if a unit with Fearless lost a melee combat (determined by # of wounds lost by each side in that combat), that unit suffered a number of unsaveable wounds equal to the difference by which they lost that combat. So, Orks running huge mobs tended to take extra casualties they didn't used to. But ok, horde tarpits had been a bit of a problem in the meta at the time and Orks only had one real competitive strategy, which was tarpitting and running out the clock.
Then we got to see the new version of Mob Rule in the 7th edition codex. It did away with the Fearless part, which was nice, and instead gave us a D6 roll anytime we failed a morale or pinning test. On a 1, we toughed it out and passed morale if we were in combat, great! But still fail in every other case. On a 2-6, depending on a condition of either having 10+ models or a Character (things like Nob leaders were considered such as well), we got the privilege of suffering D6 automatic S4 hits (still T4 back then too). So, generally speaking, any time your Orks had to test morale, you were probably going to lose 2-3 Orks to Mob Rule on top of whatever casualties may have triggered the test (for instance, suffering 25% loss of unit strength in a single phase would do this).
7th edition Orks was the worst time to play Orks.

Something about the codex I think, so they can’t amass too many mortal troops under them unless they’re a first founding chapter who get to ignore the space book when they want. Technically marines aren’t supposed to command Guardsmen forces or raise their own equivalent. In practice most mortal commanders defer to the marines “suggestions.”

>>95891176Speaking of unlisted voxcast, Episode 6 just fucking vanished entirely from everywhere and I can't figure out why.
>>95891198You now have 4 people clowning on you.
Just take the L, schizo.
>>95891208I'm not that anon or even slightly aware of what you're arguing with him about at this point. I saw two posts exactly a minute apart from one another and pointed it out.
>>95891208That's not even me anon, and you linked posts from different reply chains because you're samefagging so aggressively you can't even keep it all organized
someone bake a new thread, maybe we can start off without schizo babbling
>>95891142You've never seen mantling on a helmet before?
>>95891221I don't even think anyone is reading your posts anymore retard, we've been talking about John Blanche, fuck off tourist
>>95891240>cycling through xir catchphrases this rapidlyyou're getting desperate
>>95891233If there's a decalfag post within the first 40 posts in the next thread then I'm blaming every piece of shitposting today on him and would suggest he be permanently banned from the fridge
>>95891257I honestly don't even know what the fuck your retarded schizo babble even means at this point or who you think you're replying to.
>>95891268>schizo babblefind a new line that isn't so ironic coming from somebody screaming that everybody laughing at his meltdown is a singular person
alright once you start doing the little tricks in the fight phase the game becomes so much more fun, now i understand why everybody prefers melee over shooting
>>95891262>muh named thread schizos dramaThis is why model posting is actually detrimental to the threads, not beneficial.
Except Steel Legion anon, that nigger is based and can stay.
>>95891262If he responds to your post within the hour to claiming it wasn't him, he just happened to be passing by then we'll know if it was really him or not
>>95891219Wonder why they purged so much, as far as I know they didn't put the stuff on WH+, just an odd move.
>>95891287Subhuman tourist
>>95891284You're the one having a meltdown though, it's obnoxious and obvious, step away from the keyboard already
>>95891294>N-no uGet a new script
>>95891291>>95891291>>95891291As a reminder keep your schizophrenia shit in here. And drop the retarded argument.
>>95891292>>95891293Tourists are the ones who say "post models" because they never have any of their own to post, or at best it's all fucking extremely new primaris marineshit.
>>95891287Fuck off fag, there are multiple modelposters that don't try to attract attention to themselves and don't post often enough to get schizo orbiters.
>>95891304>you're a tourist if you own modelsthe sad cope of the pathetic little /v/ermin
>>95891287Modelposting is great provided you aren't spamming down threads with slurs, or spam posting your dogwhistles and going back and forth between admitting they're dogwhistles and pretending you don't know what people are talking about
>>95891308post frequency doesn't mean shit, even infrequent posters get schizos latching to them like the O&Tfag
>>95891304If you have models, and you play the game you aren't a tourist lmao.
>>95891317O&T fag made the mistake of engaging with the shitposters a couple times, it's on him unfortunately
>>95891327he had schizos sperging about him for years before he got into an argument
>>95891327Like the other anon said, dcslopper was schizo targeting him for ages before ever butted heads with anyone. If I remember correctly it was due to the slopper giving some sort of hobby advice(more than likely was just being rude) and o&tanon told him to fuck off. After that you'd see o&t getting spam posted multiple times throughout a thread and still do occasionally
>>95891416it wasn't the slopper but yeah you've got the rest of it right, I remember the dude getting buckbroken by him saying he'd keep his colored knees and flanges and faceplates and screaming that they'd look like an incohesive mess on the tabletop
>>95890550>Once again GW says females exist in army>No qt models to matchGenestealer Cult, despite it all, stays winning.
>>95888000Didn't one of the older kits have heads that looked like a bunch of them?
What's the average height of a guardsman? In a human population of quadrillions and assuming average nutrition, could we reasonably say under 6ft?
The scaling on this shit is crazy
welp
