Never. My T’au just know that they can ease the local imperial populace’s concerns by adding fire and machinery imagery as well as scripture passages due to the peculiarities of the local branch of Imperial Creed. After all, they don’t want you to stop worshipping the emperor, they just don’t want you to pay taxes to the old boss. Don’t worry about when their follow on reconstruction and colonization forces arrive and begin re-educating.

Generally the most sane and capable leader in the warband keeps things under control, but the turnover on servants is VERY high. WE warbands basically have to win every fight because if the lose once they won’t be able to rebuild. Thankfully Khorne gives them bullshit buffs randomly and a surprising number of WE are quite lucid after they get a good slaughter in.

back in 3rd edition I made a hell-gun(I forget the daemon weapons name) dude for chosen champion.

He was bionics upgraded for fluff, I used a necron body converted into a lord(Metal body one). I was shot down twice, got back up (6's rolled) and fled the battlefield. Back when they were taken off the battlefield immediately for being under half strength.

It was funny as hell because he fired something gnarly at him I forget what. I think he was my last model. Somehow that memory stuck with me. I imagine him cussing as he limped away.

Aside from that I had one bloodthirster solo a 1000pt guardman army back in 3.5. It just kept finishing his units on his turn and charging the next unit. He was completely unharmed until the end.

But i am happy with them overall. The gold looks really cool and I want my pile to be bigger.

>My Dudes:

They are rebels against the Imperium that aren't corrupted by Chaos, GSC or Tau. They are just humans who are tired of the of the tyranny of the Imperium and want to be free to rule themselves. Before their world of Veliste was brought into the Imperium just a scant 200 years ago their world was a fertile paradise and their society was based on a semi-nomadic clan structure. When the Imperium brought the world into compliance, they began the work of breaking down the old clan structure and have ruined the ancestral lands of the clans with their ceaseless industry. This, couples with a strong if corrupt imperial planetary governors led to rebellion that started as rioting, but escalated into a full-scale civil war that saw the Velistian rebels victorious. Knowing the Imperium would eventually come to reclaim Veliste, the clans united and formed themselves into a highly disciplined and professional military force. They learned the art of asymmetric warfare and mastered it to such a degree that even The mighty Astartes that have been part of the reclamation forces have fallen prey to their ambushes. The Imperium has attempted to retake the world 17 times and has failed each time. Many Imperial soldiers, both Guardsmen and Space Marines alike have fallen hearing the battlecry of the Velistian rebels. That battlecry being just a single word: "Freedom!"

They are regular humans so I use Imperial Guard rules for them with some GSC rules mixed in to highlight that they are primarily an ambush army, but can still fight pitched battles when they have to. Aesthetically, they resemble a heavily stylized version of Scottish Highlanders. For models I use a combination of the Border World Rangers and Highland Guard bits, both from Victoria Miniatures.

>>Well in their lore they-
>Shut up
I'll still tell you anyway.
In their lore around M40 they sent 2 squads from the chapter where sent to investigate a disappeared ordo xenos kill team and the inquisitor leading it.
The investigation lead to a fringe desert world within segmentum Tempestus. When on the orbit of the planet it wad noted that some ruins existed on the planet, and once the 2 squads touched down on the planet they confirmed the presence of ruins to mission command.
The ruins were ancient, crumbling from the centuries of exposure to the elements. However there were still legible carvings on the walls, the symbols intricate and holding a certain air of mystery around them.
When the marines picked up the trail of the kill team it lead to another ruin and then downwards into the crumbling temple. When the marines made contact and found the kill team it was a grizzly sight.

What awaited them was the killteam completely torn apart with blood all over the walls and even ceilings, bolter casings and las shots marks on the walls. They counted the bodies present and noted that the inquisitor and feww other members were not among the dead, meaning they could be alive. A worrying thought seeing the dead kill team members, was it a monster that got them? Traitors which sparked the gruesome conflict?

The marines continue further into the underground ruin to find the remaining members, and after hours of walking and killing few xenos fauna that came in their way and finding the occasional corpse of a dead kill team member, they finally find a giant room, the heart of the complex.
And within they see more bodies, the few members and inquisitor that had escaped the prior conflict.
The inquisitor himself was on top of the pyramid like structure, dead but still posed in a way like he was trying to reach for the artifact on the pedestal.

At the end of the game I got flanked and pushed back, but the lord and one of the chosen survived, and I won on the account of a bigger kill count, which was one of the primary objectives of the game. If that's wrong, feel free to correct me. it's an acquired taste, you just don't get it until you actually sit down and measure up tyranids with other designs of alien swarms to get why nids feel different

guns make them look more intelligent and technologically advanced, if you like nids for being space dinosaurs, you won't like this, if you like nids for being an alien race with biotech, you will appreciate it in the end
guns are more modular and practical
hands provide an ideally mobile firing support, both for a hobby standpoint for compatibility of bits and for a speculative biology standpoint, developing genetics and biological processes separately is immensely easier than developing them and then having to iron out all the ways they conflict when put together

some people fossilize on the silliness of the fleshborer having a literal magazine, but that's the one gun design with such a comically parallel feature, all the other are much more alien

Dont fear the freehand. You can always cover it if you fucked up majorly. And for minor fuckups, you can fix it easily.
For the fire, do your basecoat and do red zig zags which will join together. Straight lines, no need to be flowy wavy.
You can keep it red or add a touch of orange on the bottom. Then a tiny bit if yellow on the base of the flame.
I think painting minis are a lot more fun when you can do wild freehands. Try it out on your next army.

My plan is to do primarily white for the necrodermis, ideally looking for a porcelain/pottery kinda look and then do some sort of shadow effect from under the armour/in the ribs/spine just barely showing onto the edges as though they're being animated by shadows and then probably a purple energy effect for the gauss. That's true.
But in general if you post a lot, it just attracts bad faith actors who only want to stir shit because to them creating chaos on a cambodian lego forum is the bee's knees.
But it is also true that if you let yourself get emotionally compromised by a shitposter, and especially show that to a shitposter, it just paints even bigger target on your back, because again lot of shitposters are asshole people who unironically think it is funny to make people mad and upset.

This is the reason why you should never reply to these sorts of cunts.
Also especially if you are in an autistic lore argument with a stranger online, don't post your models to try and "own" person and make yourself seemingly "right", only thing you've done there again is you have been compromised, but now you have also given the shitposter a target to follow and orbit around in attempts shit up the threads further.

Unlike other DG who were caught in the warp and had the destroyer hives virus' turn their armor green these guys are still in their original Dusk Raider colours but infected wit a virus called "Ferric Blight" that turns their blood and anything it touches into rust. Theres a similar faction in the GSC but as a certified flight of the eiststein enjoyer its near to paint them in their original colours then mank it up with typhus corrosion, a streaking grime reductive wash and some dirty down.

I used to always paint mine the default since 3rd edition and always wanted to try Pallid Hand and the new codex and finding the dark imperium stuff in a backlog pile gave me the push.

I've build around 10 sets of blooded by now and know the kit inside out, so I might be biased, but it's not that difficult as it might seem as soon as you separate guns/heads and body parts on separate piles.

>Deathleaper
Nasty unit which fights first, infiltrate, lone op and stealth means enemies need to get very close to do ranged damage. Will kill a bunch of marines in melee.
>Lictor
Cheaper version of death leaper. Great screening units and good for slaughtering infantry and objective doers
>neurolictor
Synapse aura for your infiltrators and buffs vs battleshocked units. The idea is they stack with deathleaper so start of the phase you force a battleshock with the NL and Deathleaper pushes it to -1 so usually (7+ or 8+). The battleshock fails and you get access to +1 to wound (great for hitting tougher units). Also gives a -1 to hit to that unit which can be nice in melee.

The problem is Nids we’re a start of edition release so are built around battleshock. The whole mechanic is just not as game changing as GW really wanted it to be.

I have no idea what they were thinking when they introduced the charge bonus concept and then didn't make lance and similar stuff charge bonuses. It's such a simple idea, and works perfectly well.
>>95889161
Lictors are much MUCH squishier than the other two, both because they lack an invuln and the difference between 6 and 7 wounds is gigantic, D2 and D3 are very common damage stats. Lictors have dual jobs of being missiles you launch at units to pick characters out of them (on average they kill most regular foot characters) and lone op action monkeys. Also free rapid ingress is great.
Neurolictors are almost pure action monkeys, their 4++ and extra wound makes them significantly harder to kill than regular lictors and there's no real point in putting them into combat, they won't threaten anything except the very squishiest of characters. The battleshock stuff is very nice if you dedicate more resources into battleshocking (neurotyrant, screamer-killers, strats in vanguard onslaught, and so on) and the +1 to wound is crucial in vanguard onslaught to boost the damage output.
Deathleaper is basically a regular lictor on gigasteroids. He is an actual combatant and can take on even fairly dangerous stuff in his weight class like chaos lords and sm captains, especially with synapse support, and his -1 leadership aura synergizes real well with the aforementioned battleshock stuff.

Why not just come up with our own and use it in games? Something like "Whenever a unit gets battleshocked, in addition to the normal effects, the following happens:"
And then something different for each faction. Like ork units take D3 mortals when they fail battleshocks because of infighting or mechanisms falling apart.
Tyranids go into instinctive behaviour and get -1 to hit if they aren't attacking the closest target, and if they declare charges, must always include the closest target in their charge targets.
The hardest part would be that so many armies in 40k are supposed to be immune to morale stuff. If you make Custodes have something negative happen when they fail battleshock Custodes players will throw a shitfit because "their powerlevel is too high or that and they'd just ignore anything bad happening to them because they're better than my dad!" or something.

>Something tells me the fun loving ork fanbase would lose their shit if you told them 'take d3 mws' because they failed a battleshock test

Time for a history lesson. Let's go back to 7th edition. Orks haven't received a new codex since the end of 4th edition, but it was a good one that held up ok through the edition changes and was only just starting to show some rough edges after several USRs they relied on had received some significant nerfs in 6th and 7th. One of which was the Fearless special rule, which they only received the benefit of when above a certain number of models in a unit (10) thanks to the Mob Rule army rule. A change in combat resolution made it so that if a unit with Fearless lost a melee combat (determined by # of wounds lost by each side in that combat), that unit suffered a number of unsaveable wounds equal to the difference by which they lost that combat. So, Orks running huge mobs tended to take extra casualties they didn't used to. But ok, horde tarpits had been a bit of a problem in the meta at the time and Orks only had one real competitive strategy, which was tarpitting and running out the clock.

Then we got to see the new version of Mob Rule in the 7th edition codex. It did away with the Fearless part, which was nice, and instead gave us a D6 roll anytime we failed a morale or pinning test. On a 1, we toughed it out and passed morale if we were in combat, great! But still fail in every other case. On a 2-6, depending on a condition of either having 10+ models or a Character (things like Nob leaders were considered such as well), we got the privilege of suffering D6 automatic S4 hits (still T4 back then too). So, generally speaking, any time your Orks had to test morale, you were probably going to lose 2-3 Orks to Mob Rule on top of whatever casualties may have triggered the test (for instance, suffering 25% loss of unit strength in a single phase would do this).

7th edition Orks was the worst time to play Orks.

Something about the codex I think, so they can’t amass too many mortal troops under them unless they’re a first founding chapter who get to ignore the space book when they want. Technically marines aren’t supposed to command Guardsmen forces or raise their own equivalent. In practice most mortal commanders defer to the marines “suggestions.”

The left one in that pic is still leagues better than the new one, but of course nothing is going to hold a candle to John Blanche's work of love.

You know he specifically requested to do BTs for that piece because he wanted Space Marines in black armour and was tired of all the colorful 2nd edition Blood Angels stuff they kept asking him to do? He put extra passion and care into that piece because he wanted to reclaim the dark atmosphere for 40k from the overly colorful middlehammer aesthetic of 2nd ed and it become one of the most iconic ones of all time.

Imo, the problem with the codex covers is more about style.
Like even on that Blanche image the perspective is bit all over the place, like look at the marine with the skull pauldrons and the combi-flamer which is spewing fire from the bolter barrel as well.

Honestly, if the codex cover on the left was exactly the same as now, but Blanche was the one to draw/paint it, then people would be fawning over it.
Like the picture on the left isn't bad from a technical perspective and does look cool, but it feels bland and too sterile.

Like the other anon said, dcslopper was schizo targeting him for ages before ever butted heads with anyone. If I remember correctly it was due to the slopper giving some sort of hobby advice(more than likely was just being rude) and o&tanon told him to fuck off.
