Don't do that. Use a colour that resembles rust, or at the very least a brown with a lot of orange in it. Hairspray chipping is really really easy, but also super inconsistent. Oil washes are pretty stellar and there's enough prepared oil products these days that there's no excuse to ignore them. Same deal with enamels.
