it's really to predict, that why I troll so much because everything about AI is based on wild hypotheticals and the only certainty there is, is the brute-force nature of the AI-race
imo openAI is dead on the water, and won't survive unless absorbed by a bigger entity
china is massacring everyone by releasing everything as open-source
all the open-source chinese AI is government-approved, and that's a brilliant strategy
china can subsidize AI directly we can only help the free market
I don't see how companies like openAI can survive this, when they're not profitable and can't sell any decent service that isn't offered for free somewhere else
they obviously have a solid research-pedigree which is what's keeping them alive, but I don't see how they can survive on their own for much longer
