The first one already had absolute dogshit story, beach episode and way too fucking much shonen anime cliches.
4 actually improved on the gameplay, it's still perplexing to me 1 actually amounted to anything more than a wet fart.
In terms of story and presentation, it getting this bad is literally just inevitable continuation of 1 already setting up shit like this.
