I can accept Amy's character changing and being a more contributing member of her friends group rather than just "the girl" but it really should have been handled as a deliberate choice rather than just "let's stop doing that".

Have her realize there's more to life than being obsessed with Sonic and that there are things that make her happy without pinning it all on finally getting Sonic to give into a relationship. You know...actually mature.
