Poor bastard isn't even ugly, he's just completely homely and average for humans. Looks like he could have been a regular philosopher or court scribe a thousand years ago. People have become accustomed to looking at the top percentage as a representation of the whole species/different subspecies. They've also come to think that they deserve that, regardless of their own class of appearance. I get that people want the best, but if you don't offer something proper in exchange, you're just end up making yourself angry never reaching it.
