SCAR gas jet is effectively a replaceable gas port for the rifle. So throughout the life of the barrel the gassing doesnt increase which is very nice. More so the gas jets are not comparable to AR15 adjustable gas blocks. the SCAR has an adjustable regulator that is external and easily adjusted for significant gas conditions. A noveske switchblock a decent analog in the AR space but its still much smaller and lacks the gas jet component. Some generations of 416 block get the size right but still lack jets out of the box. Rifle speed adding an almost FAL style block to the rifle might technically accomplish the same gas adjustability as a SCAR but in terms of execution it is wholly inferior.

Most small size ambi ch like the ACH from geissele accomplish the small size by kicking the levers really far forward which imo furthers the snag issue and makes them really annoying to use.
Why do you think you need an ambi ch?
