If your home is paid off and the interest on your $450k pays all your expenses then you have time. Your savings is supposed to be enough to pay your bills without reducing your principle. If you can't you can reduce your expenses or you need to work to increase your savings. You may not be able to get a job right away and the longer you are out of the work force the more the HR lady may think you are no longer employable.
