What, if anything, would be a side project worthy of a resume as a supplement and indication that I am capable of more things than what I am assigned at my job? My current job is giving me professional experience, yes, but nothing all that impressive in terms of technical demand, and most are government contracts that I can’t talk about. So despite having 6 years experience I still have no portfolio I can really show off. So I will just have to make it myself but do recruiters/employers even care? Am I just screwed? I am looking for a new job now and I feel this predicament is really putting me in a bad position in this market.
