Had a job interview some time ago. The guy tells me he'll call me back in 2-3 weeks. 3 weeks later there's no call, so I call asking what's up. He tells me he'll met me know this week. Now it's friday and he never called me.
I can now see the job posting was reposted yesterday with more than 60 applicants already. They've got to be wasting everyones time.

Well there’s two problems we need to beat:
1. Hiring system rigged against us
2. Fake jobs meant to waste our time and flood the market with more H1B

I made my service specifically to beat ATS and keyword filters. They try to say you don’t get callbacks because your resume isn’t specially built for every job, which is impossible. You only have so much time in the day. This app rewrites the resume with AI (yes, I know hear me out), so you can beat those filters every time.

It wouldn’t be much of a stretch to modify it to make more diverse variations of your resume to honeypot recruiting and companies still doing DEI. That’s one option.

Another is for some other anon to make a proper job listing board, and connect the services.

Just shooting from the hip here. Feels like we have the tools to actually fight back a little. But if we are atomized individuals the most that can happen is one of us gets modestly wealthy.

I personally never understood the "customized resume for every job" thing. I always understood it as the resume being a general outline of previous jobs and what experience you got from it and your education, while the cover letter was the more specific response to the job posting. I know that's not right but I wonder when it got changed, this wasn't what school taught me back in the day for example, it wasn't until University I started hearing this.

Hahaha tell me about it. What a great product for an economy based on printing money.

>>106352321
I don’t have any proof, maybe we can find some anons in the industry to confirm this, but I believe that beyond ATS, a lot of recruiters just type a keyword into their software, then visually scan the top half of the resume or whatever the preview window shows them, before marking them for a short list. I can’t imagine any other way when there are so many applicants. But yeah my thing does cover letters too for the exact reason you gave.
Anonymous No.106352899

From what I remember, if it manages to get to a HR person, they read in an F pattern as well, so it is optimizing resumes for both the ATS keywords and to make things fit that pattern.

That is a false assumption. There is more than one ATS, and from my tests corporate ATS differ from SMEs ATS. Do you have access to test locally against those systems?

>1. Hiring system rigged against us
Besides ATS filters you then have the HR hag bias, plus zero trust approach.
+
>2. Fake jobs [...]
A painted door on a wall doesnt make it a valid entrance

You have a wrong problem definition. We could work this out if we first set a good definition:
"How can I /we build a job pipeline for anons, that receives de-anonimizing resumes, complies with local regulations, complies with corporate ladder role and duties, experience validation, for jobs in existing and registered businesses, that in two more weeks answers back if accepted into the pipeline, has a clear process, and when at failure gives the reasons why"

Inside that structure will be:
• Is the hiring system rigged against us? -- field research chain
• Are the job postings fake? -- field research chain

By how things seem to be, it has a higher prob chance to infiltrate more corpo hives and hire non-indian anons in.

>search "H1B" on job listings
>spam all jobs with resume ( I am a US citizen )
>close the loopholes for all these roles for H1B

the H1B's get their job listings from an AI that parses through the description and looks for the "H1B" keyword.

If more US citizens incessantly spam their resume on these job listings which are "open" to H1B's, we get to close this feedback loop.

It's much more satisfying to apply out of spite than to apply to a black hole. Even if you know you are not going to get the job, just submitting the application lowers the chances of H1B's landing it.

we can mess around with the labeling and vocabulary all we'd like. sounds like "skill" in your definition has to be practically useful or someone has to be willing to hire you to perform it.

I'm using the broad definition of "the ability to do something well" i.e. training a skill.

people that don't train leets will mostly fall flat on their face in these interviews, unless they have a coincidental rigorous problem solving background in their undergrad. they fall flat because they lack the skill. the acquisition process sucks ass, I will admit. That's exacerbated by the jobs not making use of this tested skill at all, which makes it all pretty lame.

Anyways that job also gave me some of the best/smartest colleagues, so the IQ filtration seemed to work

it's slowly coming to fruition, two more weeks, etc. but it's exactly how china and oddly INDIA went from completely nonfunctional shitholes to threateningly suddenly functional shitholes. it's also why you can watch russia die in real time, turns out having a "modern" economy doesnt work when you dont have friends to prop you up in a circlejerk of fiat money that refers to nothing (im not a gold standard guy but there is literally more debt in the world than there is actual money and there is no clear solution to this issue other than having nationstates and megacorps continue writing eachother IOUs forever)

Meaning $150K plus benefits you’ll never use or get. In California, where the $150 will allow you to live with only one roommate. What a deal.

You only have yourself to blame for this humiliation ritual. The jeetcode interview serves two purposes:
1. To attempt to filter jeets who completely lie about being able to code, vs those who are jr level
2. A behavioral test to see how much abuse you can tolerate. I can’t imagine some HR roastie who couldn’t set up an email address if you put a gun to her head that my degree isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on, and that she needs me to take a test I passed in my second month of school. If you can’t push back on that, then you are a great candidate for answering the demand for unpaid overtime.

They don’t even bother to come up with a lie to justify it. It’s not like meta pretends you are going there to write bubble sorts.

If you don’t have anything to show off by your second job, what are you doing with your career? How can you have nothing under your belt more interesting than your ability to take compsci 101 tests? How do you plan to stand out? Being extra weak? Reciting the answer everyone knows a tiny bit extra-gooder? Lmao just stop

i was slightly tempted to register now that i have a "real" job and just looking at the front page made me physically ill. /g/ is bad enough, idk how people read this shit (and think it's a good idea to sign up for such a toxic place using your work email)

Fair, most of the code I got public is stuff I've used in previous employment (Which unfortunately got cut short because of upper management fuckery) and allowed to share, but I'm not 100% proud of it and that's what drove me to program more in my spare time.

I like how boomers went from "you NEED to go to college, just get a degree, any degree, if you don't want to be a janitor," to "you should feel lucky that anyone wants to hire you as a janitor at all," to "I can't believe how ENTITLED this generation is, they actually think they deserve a job!"
