I don't agree that the game needed new characters. I like that this game keeps the cast compact, usually. That is the advantage of alts in gachas. You can focus on fleshing out your cast rather than just bloat the pool, every new character they add reduces the chances of any one existing character every getting anything else again.
That said the new characters are okay. I'm excited for more Arius. But let's not act like there's no possible way to be upset about this.
