Why did VR fail? Ever since the first Oculus Kickstarter in 2012 you had shills talking about how it's gonna take off any day now, the technology just needs to become a little cheaper, the refresh rate needs to get a little higher, the FOV needs to get a little bigger, etc etc

Well all those things already happened like 5 times over, and it seems like less people give a shit about it now than ever before. What happened?
