I liked Arms, I tried Drag x Drive for ten minutes and knew off the bat it wasn't fun.
There's no real way to aim your shot, the wheelchair tells you outright whether you'll get the ball in or not. On top of that the finicky controls mean that doing tricks isn't really worth it because it's only worth .5 points more than a 2 pointer shot. It'd work better as a straight up racing game or a Rocket League style of sport game but it just doesn't work at what it's trying to do

Except due to the way Speedstorm works you can't ignore it. You need character shards to unlock new characters, if you plan on playing any mode but the single mode that runs everyone maxed out w/ no pit crews then you need MORE shards to level them up AND shards to get and power up their Pit Crew members. Needing to grind up your characters is a core aspect of the game and it is intentionally a horrible slow dripfeed to incentivize buying the microtransactions instead.
It's like saying you can technically play Clash of Clans for free, yeah you can but you'll get your ass raped daily by whales while you wait for your stuff to get built and repaired as needed
