I wish Fire Emblem never went outside japan, pandering to those pesky gaijins was a mistake

Thinking about this game because of the monthly mission and realized something, this was the first Fire Emblem game that got an official localization, but also the last Fire Emblem to limit your ability to grind. Up to this point you had to choose carefully which units to focus on in a given playthrough because there was only so much XP to go around (unless you used the arena), every game afterwards you could grind freely and max out everyone if you wanted.
It made me wonder, did localizing this series also cause them to casualize it?

I want to get into Fire Emblem games. Where should I start? I've seen a lot of people here post screenshots from the GBA games.
