Exactly, they had enough foresight to make it so you can't get stuck even if you deleted literally all of the terrain possible so you can still progress to the end of the level. There's even spots where you can raise a column of regenerative terrain to go back up to checkpoints and whatnot. You just won't be able to get all of the bananas if you do shit like this.

The best part about beating the game is going back to the previous levels with the elephant power and seeing how much of the world you can delete before it starts to hinder your progress. The landing zone of the first level didn't even take that long to get to this.
